By more durable I think they mean less precautions need to be taken in care. Carbon fiber is very britle and isn't strong when it comes to hard impacts (on the frame)

suicidedownhiller: Acording to my knowledge of the kona brand history, scandium has actually been used by kona since 2000. It was first used on the Explosif bike, which was raced by Geoff Kabush to 9th at the sydney olympics

Yea it does. Nice to see that the magic linked is tucked away aswell, that thing looked darn filthy right in the middle of the coilair frame

ok yeah in which case a flat crown and dropping the stanchions is the best bet. You will not be disappointed with boxxers they are unbelievable! just undo the crowns and push the stanchions up a bit! I run mine with full travel because i dont race (although i want to very soon) and i like the geometry of the longer travel

yeah you can drop the stanchions if you want, you can also buy a flat crown (i have one spare if you need one lol, theyre quite sort after) but i mean, the stinky is perfectly fine with 8" up front, just because it's got 7" on the back! It is built for long travel forks so i wouldn't worry about it! I did ask up at konaworld.com and loads of people run standard 8" forks (boxxers, 888s, fox 40's etc) on stinkys with no problems!
